We have a lot of fun developing the learners at Wings for Life. We aim to incorporate cultural and physical activities that develop our learners on an emotional-, social- as well as sensory level. For more information on extra-curricular activities, contact our office.
Music – Guitar and Piano
Every Wednesday a professional musician with a great love for our learners comes to our school and imparts a lot of his knowledge and skills to them. He exposes them to various music styles, songs and music instruments.
Every morning our enthusiastic choir leader and the Wings for Life choir practice together. They have performed at art festivals, churches and annual functions and are always a highlight at our prize giving ceremony.
Caring Friends Dog Therapy
Every second Wednesday members from Caring Friends come with trained dogs to interact with the learners. The aim is to use the dogs to develop certain skills in our learners.
Every Friday Vaal Equestrian Riding School brings two of their horses on which the learners have the opportunity to ride. This interaction with the horses has a positive, calming influence on the learners.
Optional Extra-Curricular Activities
We are willing to accommodate service providers and therapists (for example speech- and occupational therapists, kinder kinetics etc.) to offer their services at Wings for Life to support a learner’s specific needs.
The following activities are optional and parents pay the service providers.
A qualified fine artist works with learners. In the art class children learn how to draw, paint, print and sculpt in a fun way, using learners’ individual interests.
A professional musician offers individual piano lessons to learners.
